Mt. Kailash - Manasarovar Parikrama 15 night / 16 days
"In a hundred ages of the gods I could not tell thee the glories of ( the Himalaya)..there is no mountain like (the Himalaya) for in it are Kailash and Manasarova".  - The  Ramayan

Area: Mt. Kailash and Laka Manasarova
Days: 15 nights / 16 days
Departure date:

Kailash is the holiest mountain both to the Buddhist people who live in the Himalayan belt and the Hindu people who live down in the plains of South Asia. Known as Kang Rimpoche among the Himalayan Buddhists and revered as the abode of Samvara-a multi armed, wrathful deity worshipped in the Chakra-samvara Tantric cycle of Tibetan Buddhism, Mt. Kailash is also called jambudip and represent the center of the universe. For the Hindus, it is the abode of Shiva - the God of all Gods in Hindu mythology.   The Jains of India also revere the mountain as the site at which the first of their saints emancipated. And in the ancient Bon religion of Tibet, Kailash was the sacred nine storey Swastika Mountain, upon which the Bonpo founder Shenrab alighted from heaven.

The 53 Km Kailash circuit is the holiest of all Tibet's pilgrimages and the beacon which draws most travelers to Western Tibet. It is said that a single kora / parikarma (circumambulation) erases the accumulated sins of a lifetime, while 108 circumambulation will achieve moksha (salvation) .  Lake Manasaravar sprawling below Mount Kailash is holiest among all lakes in the Himalaya and  also the origin of three great rivers of Indian sub-continent the Sutlej, Brahmaputra and the Indus.

It is believed that any one taking a dip in this lake is released of any sin he has committed in his life. The Buddhist regard Manasaravar  a gift from Buddha with cleansing and redeeming power that will bring spiritual and physical well-being Many of them have harbored the wish of bathing in the lake for many years.  There are four holy bathing spots around the lake respectively named Lotus, Fragrance, Purification and Faith. Bathing at each spot while trekking around the lake would redeem different sins. The mysterious powers of Lake Manasarovar are believed to be just as great as those of the towering Mount Kailash. Aum..
